Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos

BACKGROUND

This sweet wine from the iconic producer in Tokaj is a crowd pleaser. “Puttonyo” in Hungarian means basket; so there are 5 baskets of “botrytis” fruit in each 136-liter barrel. This gives the wine an appealing sweetness. I’ve never tasted a better 5 Puttonyos wine.

TASTING NOTES

Beautiful golden color. Honeysuckle aroma. Honey, apricot, and orange marmalade flavors on the palate. Good acidity. Sweet, but not too sweet.
