Background
This is a single-vineyard wine that is contiguous with the Grand Cru Echezeaux vineyard as well as the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot vineyard. It is right below the prestigious Premier Cru Suchots vineyard. Location. Location. Location. Many people think that this Hautes Maizieres wine is equal to a Premier Cru in quality, too.
Tasting Notes
A black currant nose is followed by ripe and concentrated dark cherry flavors on the palate. There are hints of forest floor notes and mushrooms. This wine has crisp acidity and soft tannins. It is simply exquisite, especially for a village-level wine. Great value!
