Pouilly-Fuisse Vers Cras Premier Cru

BACKGROUND

Starting with the 2020 vintage, Pouilly-Fuisse was able to label 24 of its lieux-dits as Premier Cru. The family has vines in four of those parcels. We stock the Vers Cras because it is the best. Vers Cras means close to the mother rock, which underscores the classic minerality of this wine.

TASTING NOTES

Citrus and white flower aromas, including honeysuckle. The palate is full and round. This balances nicely with the pleasant minerality. It is simply a mouth-filling wine that delivers both crisp liveliness along with richness. People always want to take another sip.

Shellfish. Lobster. Chicken in cream sauce. Cheeses such as Brie and Camembert. Any dish with mushrooms or truffles.
